A Different Book for May?

Hey girls I missed all of you at the last book meeting, but I have to say being in St. George was sooo nice! Anyway, I read "Hullabaloo in the Guava Orchard" in December and have been trying to decide if I liked it enough to still have it be our May book. I think I would like to change it to "These is My Words" by Nancy Turner. Please let me know how you feel about this. I don't want to change books if someone has actually already read Hullabaoo or has read "These is my Words" before. Sorry to be so wishy washy.

I am absolutely up for either. Just let us know! :)

I am game for either one too. I will go ahead and change it on the sidebar unless I hear from you. I don't think people would care. You gotta go with what feels right!

I am excited for this book- and good for Angie and I - we are reading this for our other book club, too!!

Does that mean no one will be able to get a hold of it? Hm...

*I just checked (and got on the holds list) the L. library. There are 3 copies... but all are checked out. Also, there are NINE holds! (Yikes!)

fyi :)

Wait a minute... is this for MAY? I'm an idiot. Disregard me. Or maybe get on a holds list come March. lol. Carry on.

That sucks if people can't get a hold of it at the library. It came out quite a while ago I didn't think it would be a problem. But I just don't feel good about Hullabaloo in the Guava Orchard, so YES, I am going to officially change it to "These is my Words". So everyone do your best to get a hold of it. And good for Amy and Angie reading it for your other book club, that is always nice. I tried to push it in mine, but too many people had already read it.

I'm happy about that! It means I have a couple chances to read it just in case I don't get it done for our ward book club this month. I'll check at the north logan library for it. If they have it there maybe I can just keep re checking it out and pass it around. I have a friend who owns it... so that may give us two copies. Plus I have heard it is REALLY good so it might be one I want to buy. Oh and some of our ward ladies usually buy the books and may let us borrow a copy as well.

Hey - The Logan library has two copies of Jayhawk, but they are both checked out. I have a hold but the estimated wait is 15 days....blah

Missy, don't hate me. I just checked out 1 of 2 L library books ... yesterday afternoon. I totally beat you to it, but only by a matter of a couple of hours (it was like 6pm I think). I think the book will be a quick (painful*) read, though, so I'll get it to you as soon as I'm done.

*I am only on page 30 something, and already I have found like 8 runon sentences (ADD A BLOODY COMMA, LADY!). Shame on her editor. Also, there's a lot of gagging involved. Hopefully the plot sweeps me away before I become too cynical. ;)
